Title: My new ice house

I am currently building a 17' by 6'6 ice house. My dad who is funding this endevor is currently catching walleyes and perch like crazy and calling me to inform me every few hours.
He left me with he credit card and free reign on this ice house. I will get some pics posted this week. I just stood the walls up today, I have ice auger tuned up and my snowmobile is going in this week to get tuned up.
We have to pull the boat next week, however I think I will leave it by our shack until first ice then have it winterized.

Sounds cool Ed, I cant wait to see some pics of the progress.
I was thinking of doing some ice fishing this year but cant spend the cash for the gear, dont want to frezze my but off siting on a bucket, so maybee next year.

Here are some pictures of the ice house, I will keep them coming. Sorry it has been a bit since I have posted, I have been busy working and trying to get this thing done. I included some pics of last years ice fishing too. You will note a large burn hole in my portable shack blink I had a bit of a mishap with my heater.

That is a nice shanty, oh and the beam was one of the first things i did notice. You going to put a stack on the roof for venting? I am also curious to see the generator area set up. You getting any decdent ice there yet? In NW Ohio we do not usually get fishable ice until January, but I have seen old timers out on a 1/2 inch ice pushing 4X8 sheeets of plywood out ahead of them. Anyhow, looking awesome so far, can't wait to see the fishing pics when you get it out on ice.

The heater is direct vent. I have it vented through the side. I am still in the process of getting all my wiring hooked up and putting in the bathroom.
I will be fishing this weekend on spirit we have enough ice to walk on and I just bought my artic armor suit, it floats.

Here are the final pics of the fish house. Just finished it up tonight.
Time for some of you Ohio folks to come out to Iowa and start fishing:) Plenty of room.
